A tragic incident took place in Thirumullaivoyal, where a 50-year-old man lost his life due to asphyxiation. The man, identified as Suresh, was working as a plumber in an apartment complex that had a sludge sump. Suresh and his colleague Ramesh were called to fix a motor pump in the sludge sump that had stopped working. As they opened the pit, they unknowingly inhaled the harmful gases present and fell unconscious. The residents rushed them to a nearby hospital, but unfortunately, Suresh could not be saved. Ramesh is currently under medical care and recovering from the incident. The police are investigating the matter and have sent Suresh’s body to the Government Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital for a post-mortem.
