The Election Commission of India (ECI) has collaborated with renowned filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani to produce a short film titled ‘My Vote My Duty’. The film, released on National Voters’ Day, features video messages from cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and top actors such as Rajkummar Rao, Amitabh Bachchan, R Madhavan, Raveena Tandon, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Arshad Warsi, Bhumi Pednekar, and Mona Singh. Directed by Sanjiv Kishinchandani, the film aims to educate and motivate citizens to value their votes and actively participate in the electoral process. It addresses attitudinal barriers like indifference and apathy towards voting and emphasizes the significance of fulfilling one’s duty as a responsible citizen. Through powerful and inspiring messages, the film seeks to instill a sense of pride and responsibility in voters, highlighting that voting is crucial for the growth and development of a democracy. The ECI hopes that the film will encourage greater voter awareness and participation in the upcoming elections, fostering a stronger and more engaged democracy.
