A man pretending to be a fortune-teller targeted a woman in Bengaluru by predicting her husband’s impending death and offering to save him through a ritual. The woman, named Shakuntala, panicked and allowed the man into her house. He asked for her gold earrings, promising to protect her husband’s life. After receiving the earrings, he left. When Shakuntala opened the pot the man had given her, she discovered her earrings were missing. She immediately filed a police complaint against the fraudster.

In recent days, there have been several crime incidents reported in different parts of the country. In one such case, Dasthagiri’s wife appealed to the state for her husband’s release. Dasthagiri is an accused turned approver in the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case. His wife alleges threats and bribery attempts from other accused individuals. Another incident involved an unidentified man who barged into the house of a 74-year-old woman and physically assaulted her. The police were able to apprehend the culprit, who was intoxicated at the time of the incident.

It is crucial for the public to be aware of such scams and remain vigilant to protect themselves from fraudulent activities. Authorities must also take necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of citizens.
