The Election Commission has put an end to the factional dispute within the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) by declaring the Ajit Pawar faction as the real NCP. The EC conducted tests to determine the aims, objectives, and majority support of each faction. As a result, the Wall Clock symbol has been allocated to the Ajit Pawar-led group. The EC also offered a one-time option for the Sharad Pawar faction to claim a name for their political outfit. This ruling follows Ajit Pawar’s decision to support the BJP-Shiv Sena government last year.
