External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met his Swiss counterpart Ignazio Cassis on Monday to discuss and strengthen bilateral ties between India and Switzerland. The meeting, which followed the 75th-year celebrations of the India-Switzerland friendship treaty, focused on various aspects of cooperation and collaboration. Both ministers exchanged perspectives on regional and international issues, including the conflict in Ukraine. They explored avenues for strengthening existing ties between the two countries. During the discussion, EAM Jaishankar expressed gratitude for a gift from Cassis – a ‘Mission to the Sun’ Swatch, highlighting India’s commitment to space exploration, particularly through the Aditya L1 Mission. Swiss Foreign Minister Cassis is on an Asia tour, visiting India, China, South Korea, and the Philippines after his working visit to New Delhi.
