In response to an RTI query, Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has disclosed information based on historical records of a 1920 gazette about Mathura’s Krishna Janmabhoomi temple complex. ASI stated that portions of Katra mound, previously housing the temple of Keshavdev, were utilised for the construction of the mosque by Aurangzeb. The RTI reply confirmed the demolition of the former temple, providing evidence for a pending case in the Allahabad HC and SC.
