Adah Sharma, starring in the film ‘The Kerala Story,’ directed by Sudipto Sen, is set to release on OTT on February 16, 2024. In an interview, Adah spoke about her experience playing the character in the film and the reason behind choosing such a controversial topic. She said that she decided to become the voice of many girls. Adah expressed her satisfaction with the audience’s response to the film, feeling that she has done justice to it. To embody the character properly, she immersed herself in research by watching videos of girls in ISIS camps and reading extensively about terrorist organizations. However, this research also traumatized her and caused many sleepless nights. Adah started isolating herself and spending more time alone. Adah is now preparing for her next project, ‘Bastar,’ where she will portray a tough cop. She also has a role as a bold bar dancer in the OTT show ‘Sunflower Season 2.’ Adah is grateful that she is offered different roles in different genres and is not worried about being typecast. ‘The Kerala Story’ earned Rs 280 crore in India, suggesting a large number of Kerala women are susceptible to terrorism. The accuracy and portrayal of this issue have been questioned amidst controversy surrounding the film.
