Taiwan has reported the detection of eight Chinese balloons crossing the Taiwan Strait. Out of these, five balloons entered Taiwanese airspace, causing tensions to rise between the two sides. Taiwan has accused China of posing a threat to aviation safety and engaging in psychological warfare. However, China has dismissed these complaints, stating that the balloons were sent for meteorological purposes. Despite the Lunar New Year holiday, both Taiwan and China have remained silent on the issue. Meanwhile, Chinese warplanes continue their operations in the Taiwan Strait.
