After visuals of farmers using kites to tackle a police drone surfaced, Delhi Police is planning a strategy to overcome this challenge if the farmers reach the Singhu border. They might seek help from professional kite flyers in dealing with such situations. Meanwhile, the police have procured 20,000 tear gas shells to handle any riots. They are closely monitoring the tactics used by farmer groups and improvising accordingly. Additionally, the police have deployed personnel and gathered logistical support and equipment from various police stations. Strategic points within the city have been identified and prepared with shipping containers, JCBs, metal barricades, and sandbags. In case the farmers manage to reach the capital, the police are considering using Chhatrasal Stadium as a temporary holding facility and a site for protests. The police are also installing more CCTV cameras near the border areas to monitor the protestors’ activities. A two-hour mock drill was conducted at the Singhu border to assess the forces’ preparedness in preventing the protestors from entering Delhi. Modified barricades were also installed at the borders. The police are taking extensive measures to ensure the safety and security of the city amidst the ongoing farmer protests.
