Rumors are flying that heartthrob Hyun Bin is set to make his highly anticipated comeback to the small screen in the forthcoming K-drama ‘Made In Korea.’ Known for his role in the hit series ‘Crash Landing On You,’ Hyun Bin is reportedly in talks to lead the new drama, directed by Woo Min Ho and produced by Hive Media Corp.
Although nothing has been officially confirmed, fans are eager to see Hyun Bin return to the television drama scene following the success of ‘Crash Landing On You.’ If he accepts the role, it will be his first drama appearance since marrying his ‘Secret Garden’ co-star Son Ye Jin.
‘Made In Korea’ was initially rumored to be a sequel to the popular Korean action film ‘Drug King,’ but production house Hive Media Corp clarified that it is an entirely separate project. The drama is expected to explore a turbulent period in 1970s Korea, highlighting themes of survival and instinctual decision-making.
One of the most talked-about aspects of ‘Made In Korea’ is its substantial production budget, reported to be around 48 billion KRW, which showcases the industry’s confidence in the project. This significant investment has heightened anticipation for Hyun Bin’s return to the small screen.
The plot of ‘Made In Korea’ will unfold in the 1970s, a time marked by intense competition and the survival of the fittest. As the casting process progresses, the production team is working on finalizing a star-studded ensemble cast. Filming for the drama is expected to begin in the summer months, amplifying the excitement among eager fans.
In January 2021, Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin, who starred together in ‘Crash Landing On You,’ confirmed their real-life relationship, and later announced their impending wedding in March 2022. Hyun Bin, known for his exemplary military service in the Korean Marine Corps, completed his duty as a frontline fighter on Baengnyeong Island.
