The Manipur government has temporarily suspended internet services in the Churachandpur district for five days following a violent incident. The violence erupted after a head constable of the district police was suspended for being seen with gunmen in a video. The offices of the superintendent of police and the deputy commissioner were vandalised, vehicles were torched, and the national flag at the SP office complex was pulled down. Security forces used tear gas and minimum lethal force to restore order. Protesters are demanding the reinstatement of the suspended police officer. One person has reportedly died and several others injured in the clashes.
