Young filmmakers Veera Shankar, Sai Rajesh, and Vassishta Mallidi have recently taken charge as new office bearers of the Telugu Film Directors Association. This comes after their resounding victory in the recent elections, where their proposal of providing free comprehensive health insurance to all members of the directorate staff resonated with voters.

Driven by their own firsthand experiences in the industry, the newly elected trio are facing this significant task head-on, reiterating their commitment to fulfilling their promise.

Sai Rajesh, the Vice President, says, “We are determined to make a difference. All members of the direction department – directors, assistant directors, art directors, and more will benefit from this initiative. It is the need of the hour and will provide some much-needed security and peace of mind to our colleagues of all age groups.” He adds, “As a committee, we’re dedicated to supporting our fellow directors through challenges. We’ll not only fulfill our healthcare promise but also aim to construct a new building for the Directors Association, further enhancing our infrastructure and services.”

Veera Shankar, who is elected for the president position, adds, ‘We’ve begun the process of collecting donations. With support from colleagues in the industry, we will deliver on the promise of free health insurance.’
