JD(U), which recently returned to the NDA fold, has thrown its weight behind the idea of one-nation-one-election. The party supports simultaneous polls to the Lok Sabha and all state assemblies, citing the advantages of reduced financial burden, policy continuity, logistical ease, and political stability. JD(U) endorsed the view expressed by business associations that economic growth would be a positive outcome of simultaneous polls. However, the party does not favor adding local body elections to the synchronised poll exercise. JD(U) conveyed its stand to the one-nation-one-election committee and highlighted the advantages of concurrent polls, including savings in costs, streamlined electoral process, higher voter turnout, and reduced disruptions. The party also believes that synchronized elections can lead to better governance and political stability.
