PM Modi has laid the foundation stone of Kalki Dham Temple in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh. The temple, being constructed by the Shri Kalki Dham Nirman Trust, will take five years to be ready. It will be built with the same pink colored stone used in Ayodhya Ram Mandir and Somnath Mandir, and will have a 108-feet high shikara.
According to Hindu Scriptures, Lord Kalki is the tenth avatar of Lord Vishnu. It is believed that during the time of Kali Yuga, when unrighteousness increases in the world, Lord Kalki will take birth to eliminate all the Adharma and establish Dharma again. Lord Kalki is the last avatar of Lord Vishnu, as all nine forms of Lord Vishnu have already descended on earth earlier.
The ceremony for the Kalki Dham Temple started on February 19, 2024, with many dignitaries and saints attending. The temple will be constructed over a 5-acre land and will be similar in architecture to Ayodhya Ram Mandir and Somnath Mandir. The construction will not use steel or iron. The shikara of the temple will be 108 feet high.
According to Hindu Scriptures, Lord Kalki will be born on earth during the festival of Baisakhi, on the 12th day following the full moon day. He is believed to be born in a village named Shambhala, in Uttar Pradesh, to a Brahmin family. Lord Parshuram, the sixth avatar of Lord Vishnu, is believed to give teachings to Lord Kalki.
