Chief Minister and TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy and Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka met the AICC General Secretary K. C. Venugopal in New Delhi to discuss the political situation in Telangana after the Congress assumed power. Mr. Revanth and Mr. Bhatti, who reached New Delhi on Monday, met Union Ministers and later called on Mr. Venugopal. They discussed the strategy the party plans to adopt for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The leaders highlighted the impressive performance of the Congress party in the recently held Assembly elections, indicating that the party candidates have a good chance of winning a majority of the Lok Sabha seats. They also discussed the constituencies where the party needs to focus its attention for the elections. The appointment of chairpersons and directors of state-run corporations may not be done immediately, as the party is prioritizing the parliamentary elections. The Chief Minister is expected to defer the expansion of the State Cabinet until after the Lok Sabha elections. Mr. Revanth Reddy will tour his constituency, Kodangal Assembly, on Wednesday. Local Congress leaders have made elaborate arrangements for the Chief Minister’s visit, and he is expected to address a public meeting during his tour.
