According to the police investigation, the victim, a first-year Bengali student, was subjected to severe physical and mental torture. He was stripped, forced to walk along the corridor, and made to lie face-down at the boys’ main hostel. Sadly, he passed away in the hospital the following day. All 12 individuals arrested in connection with this case, including six present and six former JU students, were reportedly present at the scene when the victim was being tortured. If the accused are convicted, they could face severe penalties, including the death penalty or life imprisonment.
