Secunderabad Cantonment legislator G. Lasya Nanditha, 37, tragically lost her life in a road crash on the Outer Ring Road Patancheru on February 23. The accident took place in the early hours, and Nanditha died on the spot before receiving emergency medical care. Visuals from the scene showed that she had sustained a severe head injury. The driver of the SUV also suffered severe injuries and was taken to a nearby emergency center. According to reports, the accident was caused by the high speed at which the vehicle was traveling. There were no other vehicles involved, and the SUV crashed into the left metal railing of the ORR. Nanditha, the daughter of former longtime Cantonment legislator G. Sayanna, was a first-time legislator elected from the Bharata Rashtra Samithi in December 2023. This was not the first instance of a close call for the young MLA, as she had narrowly escaped another accident on February 13. In that incident, she was returning to Hyderabad after attending a party meet when a home guard from the Narketpally police station lost his life. The mortal remains of Lasya Nanditha were kept at the local Amedha Hospitals, and the post-mortem was scheduled to take place at the Patancheru area hospital.
