The captivating second season of Nights with a Cat made its debut on March 8, 2023, enthralling audiences until its conclusion on November 15, 2023. The series initially graced Japanese television screens from August 4, 2022, to September 22, 2022, before finding its way to YouTube from October 12, 2022, to January 11, 2023.

The anime boasts a stellar voice cast, featuring Satoshi Hino as Fuuta-kun, Atsumi Tanezaki as Pii-chan, and Ayahi Takagaki as the adorable Kyuruga.

Maintaining the creative continuity, the second season retains key staff members from its predecessor. The talented team includes Minoru Ashina (known for Isekai Quartet) as the director and screenwriter, Minoru Takehara (Isekai Quartet) as the character designer and animation director, and Kana Utatane (from Akebi’s Sailor Uniform) as the music composer. The animation production for the series continues under the skillful hands of Studio PuYUKAI.

The origin of this delightful series lies in Kyuryu Z’s original web manga, which first graced the author’s Twitter account in December 2019. Kadokawa recognized its charm, leading to its official serialization in Comic Bridge in 2020. As of July 2023, five tankoubon volumes have been released, showcasing the enduring popularity of Kyuruga and friends.

Yen Press is releasing the manga in English, and it describes the story: When Fuuta comes home tired at night, all he wants to do is spend time with his new cat. All the mysterious habits and mannerisms of house cats are carefully reproduced in this relaxed and cute comedy about living with an adorable furball! Kyuryu Z’s journey began on a personal Twitter account, where the manga rapidly gained popularity. In Japan, Kadokawa is responsible for the manga’s print publication, ensuring that fans across the globe can enjoy the delightful tale of life with a lovable cat.
