The News Broadcasting & Digital Standards Authority (NBDSA) has directed three TV news channels, Times Now Navbharat, News18 India, and Aaj Tak, to remove videos of certain programmes that violated the Code of Ethics and other guidelines. The NBDSA took action after receiving complaints and found that these programmes on communal issues breached the principles of impartiality, objectivity, neutrality, and accuracy, in addition to the guidelines for prevention of hate speech, conducting debates, and avoiding communal color in reporting. Penalties were imposed on Times Now Navbharat and News18 India, including a fine of ₹1 lakh and ₹50,000, respectively. The broadcasters were also instructed to remove the videos from their various platforms within seven days. Aaj Tak, which had also violated the Code of Ethics, was warned by the NBDSA to be cautious in future broadcasts and was directed to remove the video from all platforms within seven days.
