A day after Congress declared ‘all’s well’ with the government in Himachal Pradesh, cabinet minister Vikramaditya Singh’s visit to a hotel in Haryana’s Panchkula for an overnight meeting with the six MLAs disqualified under the anti-defection law has sparked speculation. Sukhu said Vikramaditya, who had resigned two days earlier but was convinced to revoke his decision, mentioned that he was ‘going to Chandigarh to meet the rebel leaders’ after Thursday evening’s cabinet meeting in Shimla. But in a quick change of tone, Sukhu branded the six dissidents ‘kala naag’ (black cobras) who ‘sold their souls’ and cross-voted for BJP in Tuesday’s Rajya Sabha poll. Sukhu made the remark while addressing a gathering at Dharampur in Kasauli constituency of Solan district. Vikramaditya, who had cited ‘humiliation’ for his decision to resign, reached the hotel where the rebels MLAs are staying around 11pm on Thursday and left for Delhi at 2.40pm on Friday, sources said. His mother, state Congress president Pratibha Singh, told reporters that party MLAs opened up to AICC-appointed observers about their grievances in CM Sukhu’s presence.
