The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has conducted several raids in seven states as a part of an ongoing investigation into a case related to the radicalization of prisoners in the Bengaluru Central Prison. The raids were launched following the filing of a charge-sheet by the NIA earlier this year, which accused eight individuals, including T. Naseer, who is serving a life sentence in the Bengaluru prison. According to the NIA, Naseer had managed to radicalize and recruit the other accused, with the intention of carrying out terrorist activities. The agency also revealed that Naseer had conspired with another accused to deliver weapons for a planned attack and to help Naseer escape from police custody. The plot was foiled with the seizure of weapons last year.
