OpenAI Seeks to Dismiss All of Musk’s Claims in Lawsuit

OpenAI has responded to the claims made by Elon Musk in his lawsuit against the startup. Musk accused OpenAI of abandoning its original mission to develop artificial intelligence for the benefit of humanity. OpenAI, however, refuted these claims in a blog post and stated their intentions to move to dismiss all of Musk’s claims. OpenAI clarified that Musk had wanted the company to merge with Tesla and serve as its cash cow. The suggestion came after the decision to create a for-profit entity to generate capital for building artificial general intelligence (AGI). OpenAI and Musk could not agree on the terms of a for-profit entity, as OpenAI believed that it would go against their mission for any individual to have absolute control over the firm. Musk’s lawsuit is a result of his long-standing opposition to the startup. OpenAI has become a prominent player in generative AI, thanks to its funding from Microsoft. Musk went on to found his own AI startup, xAI, after his disagreement with OpenAI.
