The BJP’s core committee, including Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, State Unit Chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule, former State President and Minister Chandrakant Patil, and Mumbai Unit President Ashish Shelar, has been in Delhi to continue discussions with the central leadership and finalize the candidates. While BJP sources have indicated that the party may contest 34-37 seats and allocate 8-10 seats to the Shiv Sena and 3-4 seats to the NCP, alliance partners have expressed their own demands. The Shiv Sena is firm that it should receive the same number of seats as in the 2019 general elections, and the NCP expects to be given the same number of seats as the Sena. The discussions are ongoing, and a final decision is expected in the coming days.
