Staffers of the BMC K-West ward conducted an inspection of several construction sites in Juhu, Mumbai on Thursday. The inspection was prompted by complaints from residents about air pollution in the area. The BMC team also cleaned and brushed some of the roads and footpaths. However, residents insist that the pollution continues to persist, and they are concerned about construction projects not adhering to air pollution mitigation norms. The residents emphasize the need for regular checks to determine if debris loading and unloading is taking place at the construction sites. They also call for the regular cleaning and brushing of roads to ensure cleanliness and prevent pollution. Tejaswini Kolhapure, a resident of Gulmohar Road, stated that the BMC team will be reviewing the sites again. He explains that due to ongoing construction and potential debris loading or unloading at early hours, regular checks are necessary to accurately assess the situation. The article also mentions that the K-West ward officer, Prithviraj Chauhan, did not respond to requests for comment from TOI.
