The PM also praised the construction of the India-Myanmar-Thailand Trilateral Highway, which will boost trade and cultural ties with these Southeast Asian countries. PM Modi further highlighted the government’s efforts to address longstanding issues related to the Naga insurgency, by signing a historic peace accord and initiating dialogues with various stakeholders. He emphasized that his government is committed to resolving all outstanding disputes in the region and creating an atmosphere of peace and prosperity. Additionally, the PM announced several new initiatives and projects aimed at further promoting the region’s development, connectivity, and tourism potential. He stressed that the Northeast should not be seen as ‘just a region’, but as the ‘Ashta Lakshmi’ (eight goddesses of wealth and prosperity) of the nation.
