Brijendra Singh, perhaps the first sitting MP to leave the ruling BJP, has joined the Congress party. Congress is considering fielding Singh from the Hisar parliamentary seat in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Singh comes from a political family with deep connections to Congress, and his switch is expected to boost the party’s influence in certain districts of Haryana.
