Actor Kamal Haasan has now collaborated with director Mani Ratnam after 34 years. The duo is shooting for the period action drama titled ‘Thug Life’. It was earlier reported that the cast and crew will be travelling to Siberia to shoot for the film this month. After wrapping the first schedule in Chennai, Kamal was to travel to Siberia in March, but now the foreign schedule has been abruptly cancelled.
According to the reports of The Republic, the actor got busy with his political commitments and would not be able to allot a lot of days at a stretch and with his inability to join the sets, the shooting schedule of Siberia has been cancelled.
Actor Kamal Haasan just two days back announced his political alliance with the state ruling party DMK and that they will be competing for the Lok Sabha Parliament elections 2024.
It was only two days back the work for the movie sets in Siberia was going on full swing and now that it has been reportedly cancelled, the crew is said to shoot the parts without Kamal Haasan first and shoot his parts later. Meanwhile, the crew will return to Tamil Nadu to continue the rest of the film shooting.
The title promo of the film has already been released and the movie stars Kamal Haasan as Rangaraya Sakthivel Nayakar and the rest of the film’s cast include Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Abhirami, Nassar, Gautham Karthik, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Joju George in prominent roles. The movie’s music is composed by AR Rahman. Earlier, Dulquer Salmaan was also announced to be part of the main cast but later the actor withdrew because of schedule conflicts. Now, it is rumoured that actor Simbu might replace Dulquer Salmaan for his role in the film. However, the makers have zeroed in on any announcements.
