Kolkata Police, in association with Disha Eye Hospitals, conducted a free eye screening camp for public transporters such as auto drivers, taxi drivers, and rickshaw pullers at Gariahat crossing. The camp, inaugurated by former cricketer Sambaran Banerjee, officer-in-charge Asish Kumar Roy, and Debasish Bhattacharya, MD and chairman of Disha Eye Hospitals, aimed to ensure that drivers have clear vision for a safe journey, benefiting both themselves and the passengers they carry daily.

A senior official from the traffic guard highlighted the necessity of the camp, as public vehicle drivers need to have a clear vision for a smooth and safe journey. The camp was enthusiastically received by the drivers who are often excluded from basic amenities. The hospital plans to organize similar camps at Thakurpukur, Chinar Park, and Barrackpore in the coming weeks to provide free eye screening to these important members of society.

Debasish Bhattacharya, MD and chairman of Disha Eye Hospitals, expressed the importance of providing free eye screening to public vehicle drivers, recognizing their integral role in our everyday lifestyle. The initiative aims to address their essential needs and ensure their well-being.
