The Supreme Court had directed the SBI to share detailed information with the Election Commission to ensure transparency and accountability in political funding. The SBI disclosed that a total of 22,217 electoral bonds were bought between April 1, 2019, and February 15, 2024, with most being redeemed by political parties. The move to publish this data aims to enhance the transparency of political contributions and ensure that funds are traceable and accounted for.
