The first phase of the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project (BSRP) is scheduled to open by December 2025, announced infrastructure development minister MB Patil after inspecting the casting of the 100-ft U-girder at Gollahalli. KRIDE, the organization in charge of the project, has made a 20% progress in constructing the initial corridor from Byappanahalli to Chikkabanavara (Mallige Line). The entire corridor is 25km long, with the first stage covering 7km from Yeshwantpur to Chikkabanwara. Out of the required 120.4 acres of land, 119.1 have been acquired. KRIDE aims to open the second corridor by June 2026. This project is notable for using a 100-ft U-girder, a first in the country.
