An election control room has been established in Cuddalore district to facilitate complaints regarding violations of the Model Code of Conduct, according to Collector A. Arun Thamburaj. The district control room can be reached at the numbers 18004253168 and 04142-220277, while a toll-free helpline, 1950, has been made available to handle complaints as well. The total electorate in the district is 21,23,276, with 10,77,438 being women voters, 10,45,551 male voters, and 287 third-gender electorates. Out of the 2,302 polling stations in the district, 11 have been classified as sensitive and 187 as critical. Stringent security measures, including the installation of closed circuit television cameras (CCTVs), have been implemented in these stations. Additionally, five check-posts on the inter-state border with Puducherry have been equipped with high-resolution cameras for accurate image capture in 360 degrees. Furthermore, CCTVs have been installed at 19 check-posts along district borders. To ensure compliance with the Model Code of Conduct, nine flying squads, nine static surveillance teams, and nine video surveillance teams have been deployed across the district. The Collector has also advised political parties to refrain from hate speeches, caste or religious appeals, criticism of any aspect of private life, and social media posts that vilify or insult rivals. He further urged them to use the Suvidha app for obtaining approvals for processions, use of sound systems, rallies, and other campaign-related programs. The candidates and political parties are encouraged to make use of the single-window clearance process. For more information, please visit the provided link.
