Vishal Karwal, known for his portrayal of Lord Krishna on television, is making a comeback after a two-year hiatus. Having played the deity on numerous occasions, Vishal shares his joy and considers it a blessing to be chosen to represent Lord Krishna on screen. He reveals that he has portrayed Lord Krishna in three shows and has also taken on the character in TV shows where he played Lord Vishnu. Despite concerns about being typecast, Vishal welcomes the opportunity to play the iconic role again and states that he would do it a hundred times more if given the chance.
The actor, who was last seen as Lord Vishnu in the shows Dharm Yoddha Garud, Hanuman – Sankat Mochan Naam Tiharo, and Swarn Swar Bharat in 2022, will be returning with not just one, but two shows. In Tirupati Balaji, he will play the title character, Lord Vishnu, as well as a common man. In Rahu, he will reprise his role as Lord Krishna.
Vishal explains the reason for the gap between his television projects. He had been occupied with shooting for the show titled Kashi Vishwanath for about five months. He also appeared in a couple of web series during this time, although his roles were not particularly significant. As an actor, Vishal takes up new opportunities whenever they arise, but he acknowledges that not all opportunities are within his control, especially in television. Additionally, he has been busy setting up a resort in Palampur and plans to be more proactive in seeking out work once the construction is complete.
Vishal has been known to explore different genres, having appeared in reality shows such as the fourth season of Roadies, the first season of Splitsvilla, and the sixth season of Bigg Boss. He ventured into the fiction genre with shows like Bhagyavidhaata in 2009 and Rishton Se Badi Pratha. He has also been a part of mythological shows like Dwarkadheesh – Bhagwaan Shree Krishn and Paramavatar Shri Krishna.
