Shobha Karandlaje apologises for remarks against Tamils

Minister Shobha Karandlaje apologized on Wednesday for her remark about the Bengaluru blast involving Tamil Nadu, aimed at clarifying and not upsetting Tamils. She mentioned Rameshwaram Cafe and individuals trained in Krishnagiri forest linked to the incident. Following a complaint by a Madurai resident, Madurai police filed four cases against the minister. In an attempt to clarify her remarks, Karandlaje stated that her intention was to “shine light, and not cast shadows”. She acknowledged that her comments may have upset Tamils and clarified that her remarks were directed at individuals trained in the Krishnagiri forest linked to the Bengaluru blast.
