BJP has released its fifth list of Lok Sabha candidates, dropping Anantkumar Hegde and ignoring Sumalatha Ambareesh. Vishweshwar Hegde Kageri will contest from Uttara Kannada, while Jagadish Shettar will battle Mrunal in Belgaum. K Sudhakar and Raja Amareshwar Naik are among the other candidates announced. The party is yet to announce its nominee for Chitradurga. Anantkumar Hegde’s denial of ticket was expected due to his controversial remarks. Sumalatha, who aligned with BJP, was not accommodated in Bangalore North or any Vokkaliga-dominated seats.
