Indican Pictures has acquired North American rights to ‘Mind, Body & Soul,’ a mockumentary directed by Robert Lang. The film marks Lang’s feature directorial debut and humorously delves into the story of the Devil, endorsed by the Satanic Temple. The film will have a limited release starting March 29 at Cineworld Sunset in Los Angeles, followed by a VOD release on April 16.

Lang, also known as Deadline’s Photo Editor, wrote the script for ‘Mind, Body & Soul,’ adapting it from his short film created with Conr Kinman. The film, made for under $20,000, boasts a minimal crew, including a director of photography, sound operator, and gaffer, for the seven-day shoot.

In the film, Kinman portrays Satan, who invites a documentary crew to his Los Angeles apartment to reintegrate into society and refurbish his image. However, a twist occurs when it’s revealed that Satan has been expelled from Hell, shifting the documentary’s focus to his journey of self-reinvention and self-discovery.

Lang emphasized the film’s respect for all religions, choosing to explore Satan’s historical persona and his potential modern aspirations. The narrative avoids ridicule, focusing instead on Satan’s character development and his place in contemporary society.
