A 40-year-old woman employee of Cadila Pharmaceuticals has lodged a complaint with Mahila Crime police, alleging that she was sexually harassed by an executive of the company. The executive had previously been accused in an alleged rape case filed by a Bulgarian woman against the company’s CMD Rajiv Modi.
The woman, who had worked with the company for around five to six years, approached Mahila Crime police and stated that she was harassed and subjected to lewd comments. She decided to take action after the Bulgarian woman, a former flight attendant with Modi, challenged the clean chit given to him by the police.
The Bulgarian woman has objected to the police’s clean chit and alleged that they received a bribe of Rs 40 crore to overlook the case. A local magisterial court has issued a notice to the investigator.
An inquiry has been initiated by the police into the fresh complaint, but no FIR has been filed yet.
