Political Showdown in Bheemili: Long-time Friends Contest in Upcoming Assembly Elections
    Uncategorized

The stage is set for a political showdown between long-time friends in the upcoming assembly elections in Bheemili, the second-oldest municipality in India that merged into Greater Visakha eight years ago. Bheemili, known for its coastal beauty, is now witnessing a battle between two former ministers and friends of over three decades.

Ganta Srinivasa Rao from TDP and Muttamsetti Srinivasa Rao, also known as Avanti Srinivas, are the heavyweight contenders from the two main political parties. Both Ganta and Avanti, who are current sitting MLAs, have a history that dates back to their time in Chiranjeevi’s Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) in 2009. Ganta, a seasoned politician, entered politics in 1999 and has never been defeated in elections. Avanti, on the other hand, is known for his educational institutions under the name of Avanti Institutes.

The political landscape in Bheemili has seen shifts in power over the years, with different parties winning in various elections since 2004. Bheemili has a significant voter base, with a large percentage from urban areas. TDP has been a stronghold in Bheemili since its inception in 1983, winning the seat four times continuously till 1999. Avanti won the seat in 2009, and Ganta won the same seat in 2014. Avanti is contesting for the third time in Bheemili, while Ganta is violating his own trend and contesting for the second time in a constituency. Ganta has never contested a second time in any constituency in his political career.

The ongoing feud between Ganta and Avanti has added an intriguing element to the political dynamics in the region. Avanti, a staunch supporter of CM Jagan’s welfare schemes, is confident in the YSRCP government’s ability to bring about positive change. On the other hand, Ganta believes that TDP’s victory is crucial for the state’s future and emphasizes the importance of development over destruction. Despite their political differences, the friendship between Ganta and Avanti has faced strains, with reported attempts by Ganta to switch parties causing friction between the two.

Avanti’s steadfast opposition to Ganta’s moves has highlighted the complexities of friendship in the realm of politics. The upcoming elections in Bheemili are poised to be a decisive moment for both candidates as they vie for the support of the electorate. With contrasting visions for the future, Ganta and Avanti are gearing up for a battle that could shape the political landscape of the region. As the countdown to the elections begins, all eyes are on Bheemili to see which friend-turned-foe emerges victorious in this high-stakes political showdown.
