China has criticised the tightening of U.S. rules on semiconductor exports, stating that they have created more obstacles and uncertainty in the chip industry. The Biden administration recently revised these rules, intending to impede China’s access to U.S. artificial intelligence chips and chipmaking tools due to national security concerns. The Chinese Commerce Ministry spokesperson expressed that this decision seriously affects mutually beneficial cooperation and harms the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese and foreign enterprises. China firmly opposes this move and is prepared to collaborate with all parties to enhance the security and stability of the global semiconductor industry and supply chain. Companies such as Nvidia and AMD have been impacted by these export rules.
