Former Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot claimed that the BJP’s slogan ‘Abki baar 400 paar’ indicates their intention to make changes in the Constitution. Gehlot highlighted the criticism India has faced internationally for stifling democracy, citing the reactions of the UN and Germany to the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. He expressed suspicion about the BJP’s plans for abolishing reservation and questioned their monopoly over Lord Ram. Gehlot made these remarks at the nomination rally for Congress party’s Jodhpur Lok Sabha candidate Karan Singh Uchiyarda. Govind Singh Dotasara and Sachin Pilot, senior Congress leaders, were also present at the rally.
Pilot emphasized the significance of the election for the future of the country, democracy, and the republic. He called on the voters to take the elections seriously and cautioned them against the BJP’s propaganda. Pilot criticized the politics of retaliation, conflict, pressure, and violence seen in the last 10 years. While he supported taking action against wrongdoers, he stressed the importance of impartial and effective action to build trust among the youth. He also condemned the misuse of government agencies by the Centre to suppress opposition voices.
