Telangana police arrested Kanna Rao, a 46-year-old businessman and nephew of former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, in a land grabbing case. He was remanded in 14 days’ judicial remand. The arrest came after Kanna and his associates allegedly trespassed into a 10,000 square yard plot, demolished a shed, set it on fire, and assaulted the caretakers. Both Kanna and a private firm called OSR Projects claim ownership of the land, leading to a pending court case. Kanna had sought anticipatory bail from the High Court, but his plea was rejected. On Tuesday, he moved the High Court again, this time seeking to quash the FIR against him. However, his plea was turned down, and he was subsequently arrested. Currently, a manhunt is underway for the other 14 individuals involved in the case.
