BJP leader Jyoti Mirdha’s statement on “samvidhanik badlav” has been followed by the concern expressed by Congress leader Shashi Tharoor. Tharoor suggests that the opposition is worried about the Hindu Rashtra agenda of the proponents of Hindi, Hindutva, and Hindustan. He highlights the importance of opposition support in passing popular amendments in the national interest, stating that a crushing majority is not necessary for such amendments. Tharoor also urges Mirdha, the BJP candidate from Rajasthan’s Nagaur, to reconsider her stance as it goes against the ethos of the country. Mirdha clarifies that her comment was blown out of proportion and mentions the various amendments made in the Constitution. The video in question shows Mirdha talking about the need for constitutional amendments for decisions in the country’s interest.
