Union defence minister Rajnath Singh caused a sensation when he refrained from denying a report in The Guardian alleging that Indian agencies used hired guns to eliminate 20 Pakistan-based terrorists. Singh stated that any terrorist trying to disturb peace in India will be given a befitting reply, even if they enter Pakistan. The Guardian report claimed that India’s anti-terror policy includes targeted assassinations of terrorists living on foreign soil, with the help of RAW-recruited accomplices in Dubai. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has denied the allegations and stated that targeted killings in other countries are not the policy of the Indian government.
