Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut, who is touring Sangli Lok Sabha constituency to gauge the mood in favor or against Shiv Sena’s candidate Chandrahar Patil, expressed concerns about possible interference by some people in favor of the BJP. Raut hinted that Vishwajeet Kadam, a Congress MLA, may join the BJP, referring to Kadam’s statement about being a pilot and ready to go wherever MLA Vishwajeet Kadam takes him. Raut also commented on NCP leader Sharad Pawar’s statement and the discontent within the MVA alliance.
The disgruntlement within the MVA alliance over the Sangli seat continues to grow. With Congress keen on contesting Vishal Patil, grandson of late Chief Minister Vasantdada Patil, from the Sangli constituency, MLA Vishwajeet Kadam met Congress’s Maharashtra in-charge Ramesh Chennithala to press the demand for Congress to contest the Sangli Lok Sabha seat. Vishal Patil also hinted at contesting the elections on behalf of Congress.
Sanjay Raut met former state minister Ajitrao Ghorpade and former MLA Vilasrao Jagtap. Speaking about sitting MP Sanjaykaka Patil, Raut highlighted the discontent regarding the sitting Sangli MP’s performance over the last 10 years. Raut also took a dig at Devendra Fadnavis, stating that if treatment was required for Fadnavis, it should be done in Thane or Mumbai.
