The Goregaon police in Mumbai have registered a case of causing death due to negligence after the body of a missing security guard was found in a decomposed state inside a lift duct of an under-construction building in Kandivli. The deceased, identified as Sunil Jaiswal, had gone missing on April 4, and his body was discovered on April 7.

Sunil Jaiswal, 37, and his father Ramshiroman, 58, worked as security guards at the same construction site in Malad (E). The incident occurred only a week after Sunil was recruited at the site.

The body was discovered in B wing of the site, where work was currently not being carried out. Sunil’s father lodged a complaint with the police after searching for him for three days and inquiring at his native place in Uttar Pradesh.

The police have sent Sunil’s viscera for chemical analysis to determine if there was any foul play involved in his death.

Investigations are underway to identify the unknown person responsible for the negligence that led to Sunil’s death.
