A special NIA court in Bengaluru has handed over two terror suspects behind the March 1 Rameshwaram cafe blast to 10-day NIA custody. The duo was arrested from a hotel room at New Digha in Bengal in the wee hours of Friday after they had checked in under false names. The accused bomber Mussavir Hussain Shazib, 30, and his associate-cum-mastermind Abdul Matheen Taha, 30, were produced before special judge CB Santosh at the latter’s residence in National Games Village in Koramangala around 11.30 am.

This development comes after the NIA detained Shazib and Taha in the Bengaluru cafe blast case. Shazib planted the IED at Rameshwaram Cafe, while Taha was the attack mastermind. They were brought from Kolkata on transit remand.
