Monorail services in Mumbai came to a halt for three hours on Tuesday morning due to a tyre burst in a guiding wheel. The incident occurred near the BPCL monorail station on the Chembur-Wadala depot route. Passengers were safely disembarked at Bhakti Park station and technicians assessed that a wheel replacement was necessary. The replacement took three hours, and services resumed by 1pm. The disruption only affected the Chembur-Wadala depot route, while trains operated up to Sant Ghadge Maharaj Chowk. Monorail officials assured that the incident did not pose any danger to passengers and attributed the tyre burst to wear and tear or excessive heat. Measures have been taken to prevent the recurrence of such incidents as the monsoon season approaches. Monorail services in Mumbai operate at a frequency of 15 minutes, with 142 services in total.
