Voting for the first phase of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections began on April 19 in 102 constituencies across India. Indian voters exercised their right to vote in various unique ways. In Rajasthan’s Bikaner district, voters rode on a camel cart to cast their ballots. In Kra-Daadi district, Arunachal Pradesh, senior couples were seen happily on their way to the polling booth. Differently-abled voters in Rajasthan’s Alwar district also made their way to the polling booth. A polling station in Maharashtra was decorated with a ‘bamboo and forest’ theme, giving voters a unique experience. These pictures capture the enthusiasm and spirit of Indian voters participating in the democratic process.
