Chennai recorded an average voter turnout of 9.4% till 9 am on Friday. The city’s polling booths mostly saw thin crowds, and many voters were turned away due to malfunctioning EVMs. Chennai North recorded 9.73%, Chennai South recorded 10.08%, and Chennai Central recorded 8.59% voter turnout. This was lower compared to the average of 12.5% in Tamil Nadu.
