At least four Electronic Voting Machines were damaged at different polling booths in conflict-hit Manipur on Friday during the Lok Sabha elections. The EVMs were damaged at four places in Imphal East and West. Unidentified miscreants set ablaze an EVM at one of the polling booths. In the Inner Manipur constituency, incidents of intimidation and firing were reported during the polling. Manipur has been under the shadow of an ethnic conflict, with clashes between the Meitei and Kuki communities. More than 24,000 displaced people were eligible to vote, and special polling stations were set up for them.
