In a rare case, the Gujarat high court has reunited a live-in couple who were separated by the woman’s estranged husband. The couple had been living together in Amreli district’s Khambha town since January. When the woman’s husband forcibly took her away and kept her in her maternal home, her partner sought legal custody of her. The court directed the police to bring the woman before them and allowed her to go with her partner. Due to the history of violence in the case, the couple was also granted police protection until they reached their new home.
